Do you ever walk in the room and ask yourself “what color did I paint that wall” or “what circuit is this outlet on”. Well, this clever little wall plate, memory hack may just make your day.
Trying to remember things around your home can be a pain, especially when you use a lot of different materials and things for different rooms.
Our first hack has to do with remembering a paint color. All you have to do is take a paint, sample card or part of the custom color label and tape it to the inside of a switch plate. It’s simple to do, just unscrew the switch plate and glue on the card or label. Screw the switch plate back on and you’ll know that color the next time you need to get it. This will save you a lot of time color matching at the paint store.
Our second hack is to help you identify what circuit a specific outlet is on. Once you figure out what circuit breaker controls what outlet, take a sharpie and label the inside of the outlet cover with the circuit number. That way if you ever have to replace the outlet, or do a repair, you’ll know immediately what breaker to turn off.
These two simple tricks of the trade will only takes a minute to do and will save you a lot of time when you’ve got a lot of other do-it-yourself projects to do on that honey-do list!
